Giray Sepin was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1981. In 2004, he got his B.A. from Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Fashion and Textile Design department. He worked within the Abbate design team with Ümit Ünal from September 2003 until July 2005. With the prize he won from the Koza Young Designers Contest in 2004, he got a scholarship for the Polimoda International Institute Master Advanced program, under the supervision of Linda Loppa. He started to work for Mudo Collection Men in November 2007. In 2010, he designed shirts for Bill’s White Shirt project. He also designed the dancers’ costumes for the Eurovision Song Contest final performance of Can Bonomo in 2012. He continues his designing adventure with his own brand under his name which was launched in January 2014 along with his position as the design consultant of menswear at Mudo Collection. He is one of the 10 designers selected for the ”Istanbul Fashion Incube“ project. He won the Young Fashion Designer of The Year award from the Elle Style Awards in 2015. He also represented Turkey at the International Woolmark Prize in 2016. He continues to give lectures at the Istanbul Fashion Academy since January 2016.
